Credit data and analysis for fixed income portfolio professionals and managers

Credit analysis is a primary concern and challenge for fixed income investment researchers and professionals. The ever-expanding volume and complexity of fixed income credit data makes this a matter of urgency.  Quite simply, this is not a problem that will easily go away.

These challenges can be grouped into two primary categories:

  1. Retrieving/storing the data – credit data for fixed income assets often needs to be gathered from multiple credit data and ratings sources. To make decisions based on this data, the information needs to be gathered and centralized as quickly as possible.  The nearer to real time, the better.
  2. Processing, analyzing and reporting the credit data – after reliable data is in place and easily accessed, a fixed income portfolio manager/researcher/professional should be able to efficiently evaluate (and report) credit analysis using a variety of comparison and modeling tools.
