“Create Your Own” Proprietary Indexes

If you decide that you need your own customized benchmark for internal purposes, the Custom Index Manager can accommodate you. You can create as many custom indices as you would like. All indices are created from the set of the 40,000+ bonds in the main Standard & Poor’s / Investortools Municipal Bond Indices. Create a long, investment-grade state index, tailor an intermediate index to fit your specific maturity and duration constraints, or build a benchmark that reflects your firm’s strengths and specific market strategy. Once you have created a custom index, it can be used for any of the above analyses in the same way that the published index can be used, even historically.
